Whoever the FA gets to replace Steve McClaren as England manager, I hope they put into their contract something to the effect of "if England doesn't qualify for the 2010 World Cup, we get to sack you and you don't get any compensation". That should save them £2.5m or so.

(That's assuming the FA sacks McClaren, which they haven't at the time I'm writing this. If they don't sack him, they can expect every England home match to be devoid of England supporters until they do).

4-5-1 ... what kind of mad formation is that to continue with when we're 2 goals down?
