6:06pm on Wednesday, 8th December, 2010:
It was student visit day today at the university, which meant I wasn't in when my World of Warcraft discs arrived by UPS (and, as I have to pay £15.39 in cash to cover customs costs, I do have to be in when they arrive).
Anyway, this year's visit day process has a new innovation: CS & EE News, a colour handout with newsy articles about the
Department School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. It's printed in colour on both sides of a single sheet of A4 paper.
I was surprised to see that I was featured in it. The text was extracted from a pair of articles I'd written for i++, the fortnightly email magazine sent internally to staff in the
department school. This is what it said:
Hmm. Come to Essex and be taught by a conceited git.
I knew I should have mentioned that I'd won an award...
