Rose

Weird

We were given a small, decorative rose as a gift when relatives visited earlier this year. After the flowers died, my wife planted it in our rockery.

Since then, we've had heatwave after heatwave, and most of the plants in the garden have suffered terribly (we have some kind of brown, fibrous matting instead of lawn). The rose, however, flourished.

That's taller than me now. Gawd knows how it's thrived, it must have roots that tap into an underground stream or something.

I believe my wife has put it on her list of "plants to give a haircut".
