Breeding Art

Anecdote

I had another look at Artbreeder yesterday. They've improved their system somewhat.

Start>Login>Create>Portraits>Upload

Select your uploaded image and you get a bunch of genes to edit. Here's what I did for my FFXIV character, Scarlet:

Clockwise from top left: [original]; [chaos 1]; [chaos 1, art -1]; [chaos 0.5, art -1]; [chaos 0.5, art -2]; [chaos 0.5, art -2, makeup 1].

The transformations I did in February were effectively [chaos 1] only.

Here are the original images for two of my other characters, Polly and Flute, next to their [chaos 0.5, art -2, makeup 1] versions:

You can see the improvement.

Scarlet came out looking as if she was from the Far East. One of the genes you can tweak is called "Asian". Here's what she looks like with [chaos 0.5, Asian -0.3, art -2, makeup 1]:

Hmm, she looks slightly crazy.

Maybe I'll try it on my cat-eared, horned-eared and rabbit-eared characters next.
