KODT 4

Anecdote

In addition to playing cards and maps of Europe from 1869, I collect copies of issue #4 of Knights of the Dinner Table. I rarely add to my stash of these, however, because they cost more than $100 each and I don't want to spend that kind of money on them (it's hard enough justifying to my wife why I collect them at all). Sometimes, though, one appears on eBay in a buy-it-now context and I manage to snaffle it before anyone else spots it.

This happened recently, when a job lot of assorted issues appeared on eBay. I noticed that one was for KODT 4, so bought the lot for $20. Issue #4 is unusual because there are two printings of it, and collectors tend to want both. Also in the lot was an issue #30, which is also sought-after as the print run was short so there aren't as many of them out there as there are issues #29 and#31.

In total, there were 23 issues in the lot, which I shall now have to bag up before running the gauntlet of comments from my wife demanding to know why I want them if all I'm going to do is keep them in the attic (answer: so I can keep them in the attic).

Ooh, I've just realised that my webcam is a cam, so I can use it to take photographs!

Nice haul.
