Royal Embrocation

Weird

This 1905 book my wife found on how to fix broken horses, dogs, birds and cattle is published by a company called Elliman's. It's rather heavy on product placement — maybe half of all the treatments mention Elliman's as part of the cure. Your horse has a broken knee? No problem! Elliman's is right there to help disinfect the wound.

Interspersed between the assorted conditions and treatments are pictures endorsing the product. Here's an example:

By all accounts (well, by all Elliman's accounts) it's a wonder product. It's still in use today, too.

One of the pages at the back recommends its use on people as well.

I think I'll give it a miss.
