Railed

Anecdote

I noticed when I taught my Friday morning class last week that the superfluous handrail near the window in the room was coming off the wall.

Why would a handrail no-one has any cause to use be coming off the wall?

This week's class, the students had to discuss a text in groups. This meant I could sit down and amuse myself while ... oh, just a moment! I couldn't sit down: there was no student-facing chair.

I suspect that one of my colleagues used the handrail instead.
