Bees

Weird

We have a garden bench that my wife won for having worked for the same company for 30 years. She likes to sit in it while eating sandwiches and admiring the results of her gardening efforts. Of late, however, her attempts to do this have been marred by bees.

At first, we thought the bees had been attracted by the wood polish she'd used, but no! It seems that bees have made some of the bolt holes into homes.

Top-left picture: the pollen stored in just one of the holes.
Top-right picture: a bee entering one of the holes.
Bottom picture: our solution — rawl plugs.

Perhaps now the bees will deign to use the bee hotel we've had for several years but they haven't gone near.
