Anecdote
I went for my morning walk along the route I followed when I started this, at roughly the same time. There are far fewer people around now. I counted:
1 bus (no pasengers)
1 lorry
5 vans
14 cars (4 Mercedes/Audi)
1 cyclist
8 pedestrians
Maybe people are setting their alarm clocks later. I'd do the same, except I'm awoken by the sun every morning so there would be side effects if that didn't come up for another hour.
