2:11pm on Friday, 27th December, 2019:

Another Groan

Comment

A short piece in today's Daily Mirror reported the results of a survey of 2,000 people by the animal welfare charity, SPANA. The question concerned the top groans of 2019.

Here's how the newspaper reported the results:

The second one is clearly spun. No-one, when asked what their top groan of 2019 is, would reply "Not getting a GP appointment because of lack of NHS funding"; they'd just say "Not getting a GP appointment". I can't find the original survey to see what the question actually was (I guess you could have had to choose your question from a set list, with that as one of the answers), but it's still spun.

It makes me wonder why they didn't have "rain all summer because of climate change".
