Como

Anecdote

Today's adventure was a trip to Como by the fast boat (hydrofoil), which took only 50 minutes; the slow boat would have taken more like 130 minutes but cost a couple of euros less.

Como is the largest town on the lake which bears its name. It has shops, a market that runs for several hundred metres along a road, a cathedral and a funicular railway up a mountain to give panoramic views. Its setting is sheltered by mountains on all sides.

We didn't see much of it, though, because today was refill day for the lake.
