Anecdote
There's been a Twirl chocolate bar in the fridge for ages. Today, I felt peckish, so I ate it. I dunked it in my tea and sucked the melting chocolate off it until it had all gone.
I did note in so doing that chocolate isn't normally full of crystals.
On inspecting the packet, I learned that its expiry date was 3rd April last year.
