Anecdote
We drove up to Norwich today and stopped off at a Little Chef for lunch.
Every table in it had the plates, cups and cutlery of several meals on it (except the one table that had no chairs). Only perhaps two or three tables had actual customers; the rest merely had had customers some time ago. It was as if some kind of crockery bomb had gone off in the place. It didn't smell all that pleasant either. Needless to say, we decided to eat elsewhere instead.
On the way out, we noticed a sign on the door saying "STAFF WANTED". I guess it's been there a while...
