Anecdote
I'm going to Madrid this afternoon for a filmed interview tomorrow, after which I'm coming straight back. I only need to pack for one night, so I can travel light (just as well, given that I'm on Ryanair — do they still make you stand, holding a leather strap like you're on a tube train?).
The weather in Madrid looks to be punishing: a high of 36C with not a cloud in the sky and barely any wind. In contrast, the moment my flight takes off at Stansted this afternoon there's scheduled to be a violent storm.
So, the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plane.
