Sentiment Analysis

Comment

It must be depressing when you're studying some controversial phenomenon on social media (politics, sport, religion, Apple) and have to read what people are saying.

Idea! Use sentiment analysis software so you get the gist of it without having to read the vitriol.

Idea! Having got the sentiment analysis, write an AI program to post replies. You can develop two AIs: one that supports each general sentiment trend and one that opposes each general sentiment trend. Then, you can release them into the wild and your PhD is practically written for you.

I'm guessing that this would be particularly useful for gender-related behaviour such as that seen in the Gamergate controversy, because AIs don't have gender and therefore can't be hated for being the opposite to the right one.
