Up in the Air

Anecdote

We've just got back from the fireworks. The theme this year was World War 1, because (as the presenter told us), we're celebrating 100 years since the start. I'm not sure "celebrating" is quite the right word there... The music was mainly from World War 2 movies, along with random modern songs with the word "war" in their title.

This display started late — something like 7:50 instead of 7:30. The fireworks were good as always, a bit slow at the start and one of the frames fell over and shot most of what was on it into the ground. The ending was spectacular, though, well worth the £8.50 or whatever it cost for a ticket. The rain held off, too.

I'll be back again next year, I expect.
