They're of chessmen: a bishop and a rook. I try to get game-related cufflinks, so these are good for me.
Unfortunately, because they're chessmen, to look right they have to stand up. This puts them in line with the buttonhole in the cuff. They go through the buttonhole with ease. I could lie them horizontall, but then the backing on the other side of the cuff would line up with the buttonhole instead.
I wouldn't care, but if you have a bishop digging into you it can really hurt...
