Anecdote
Today, with the weather looking a little brighter, I went back into Colchester and got myself a new phone. I went with the Samsung Galaxy 2S, which seems to be pretty good. It may be made by a large Korean conglomerate, but the point is that it's not made by a patent-trolling advoate of closed systems. I can write my own software and put it on my own phone if I want.
That said, I'll be spending the next few days finding out what of the software already on there is actually useful and deleting the rest. Jeez, but it comes pre-loaded with some crud...
