Lyrical Busker

Anecdote

For many years, Colchester has had a busker who stands around in the town centre playing his guitar and singing. He sings a variety of songs, but at least half the time I walk past him it's Hotel California, originally by The Eagles. He's sung it so many times that the lyrics are word perfect. This is probably just as well, because without them you wouldn't know that he actually was singing Hotel California — the resemblance of what he strums on his guitar and the tune is practically non-existent. It's in tune, it's just not the tune.

An appearance on The X Factor beckons.
