Weird
Today, I got the Buffalo Bill Wild West Annual 1950 I bought on eBay. The postman delivered it at 6:45am, sticking a card through the letterbox saying we weren't in, even though we were in and the lights were on so he knew we were in. Maybe he figured some of us might still have been asleep.
Anyway, I read through the first couple of stories to refresh my memory. There were some things I could see in my mind's eye as clear as day, for example how to chop a log. Other things were just absorbed as part of the story, though, for example this kind of thing:
Ah, they don't write them like that any more ... (for good reason).
