Anecdote
I've been driving for something like 25 years, and have never broken the law. Thus, my licence has no penalty points or other endorsements on it, and it can therefore be described as "clean".
However, had the person behind the counter at Timpson's not noticed I'd left it in the pocket of the jacket I took in to be dry-cleaned, it would have been cleaner still...
