Anecdote
I 've joined the British Humanist Association. As my name has been on some list of famous atheists for years, I thought I may as well put my money where my mouth is.
They offer a bunch of services for things like weddings and funerals, which is a bit off-putting (rituals are really a religion thing), but they're against having faith schools in the state school system and they have a bunch of other causes that I approve of, too. Given how much money gets given to religions, a little bit of help for the BHA won't make all that much of a difference.
Still, it's the principle...
