Well, day 1 of the Independent MMO Game Developers' Conference was everything I'd hoped it would be. This is just as well, because otherwise my keynote speech tomorrow wouldn't really work... As soon as I walked out of the room after the first talk today and saw people in small groups deep in passionate and animated discussions, though, I knew my instincts had been correct: it's a hit. I'm already looking forward to next year, and there's still half of this year's conference to go.

I wonder if it would have affected attendance much if people had known in advance that right now the convention centre is also hosting a volleyball tournment featuring hundreds of scantily-clad teenage girls, plus a dance competition featuring another few hundred of the same?
