Anecdote
Because it's a year since we retired, it was time for our first annual review with our financial advisors. This is where we got to find out whether they managed to increase the value of our savings by more than we pay them. Given that we pay them more than I receive in state pension, it's a big ask; nevertheless, they managed it. Whether they will when the AI boom busts is another matter of course.
After the meeting, they took us for lunch in the company's restaurant. We were expeccting maybe a canteen, but no! It turned out to be a swanky place on the 23rd floor with great views across London.
The food was excellent, too. It's nice to know that some of the money we're paying them is spent on us.
