Anecdote
It's always nice to go into an antiques centre and see a display of Hornsea Pottery (Hornsea being my home town). The pottery where they were made is long-since closed (sadly), but the stuff it made remains popular.
The further away from Hornsea the antiques shop is, the more the pottery's output seems to be valued. OK, so taking inflation into account it probably costs the same now as it did when it was made, but still, at least it's not worthless.

I hope you don't have your eyes on the white bunny at the back to the right of the other right bunny at the back: we bought that one.
It turns out that my wife didn't grow up in a town where everyone had several small vases and the like feature adorable woodland creatures, so she's more susceptible to their charms than I am.
