Anecdote
When I was a child, ice-cream sellers would drive around. They'd play a jingle and wait a few minutes so that people who wanted ice creams could go out and buy them. Who could forget the appearance of Mr Softee in his open-sided van at 3pm in the afternoon?
When I was in Bristol last week, drug dealers drove around. They played hip-hop and waited a few minutes so that people who wanted drugs could go out and buy them. Who could forget the appearance of the two young men in their open-topped black Mercedes at 3am in the morning?
How times change.
I think the two young men make a lot more money than Mr Softee ever did.
