Anecdote
I was supposed to have gone on a hot-air balloon flight at 6:30am today, but it was called off at 11pm yesterday because the weather forecast predicted that the wind speed at 2,000 feet would be too strong. Having taken several weeks to manage to book this slot, I expect it will take several more to book a new one (especially as we'll be in competition with everyone else whose scheduled flight was cancelled — the baskets hold 16 passengers each).
My elder daughter's decision not to come here from Bristol to join us in the balloon "because 60% of all flights are cancelled" is now looking wise.
