Anecdote
I went to the Sainsbury's store in person today, because my wife had forgotten to book a home delivery slot.
There were quite a few empty shelves, with apologetic signs on them blaming "high demand". Yes, well that would be high demand for HGV drivers who haven't been told to self-isolate.
Many shelves were not empty, however, including this one:
I expect nobody was feeling peckish.
