Anecdote
At the top, the power supply sockets on a Great Eastern Railway carriage. At the bottom, the power supply sockets on a Great Western Railway carriage.
The only sockets on the GER are at the end of the carriage and have been plated over. The sockets on the GWR are between every pair of seats.
If we do get a government that renationalises the railways, are we going to wind up with a British Rail that's more like GWR or GER?
It's amazing how merely by not ranting about differences in wi-fi provision has cut the length of this post by 50%.
