Anecdote
Among the things my wife gave me for Christmas was a heavy cold.
OK, all my colds are heavy, so nothing new there, but this one is more throaty than most and has given me an alarmingly deep voice. It's the kind of voice that if I had it the whole time, would cause people to listen to me at meetings.
I don't suppose it'll last, but I'm hoping that at least it'll clear the residue of a cold I had a couple of years ago that left my voice slightly higher than it ought to be.
