8:07am on Saturday, 27th May, 2017:
Two hours after leaving my house, I'm sitting in the departures lounge at Heathrow Terminal 2, two and a half hours early for my flight. This is what happens when there are no accidents on the M25 and everyone flew to their holiday weekend destinations yesterday evening.
I'm heading to Visby in Sweden for the Gotland Game Conference (I'm one of the judges), plus the Educators' Summit which immediately follows. I'll miss the FA Cup Final, and episode of Dr Who and a bank holiday day off, but it'll be worth it. I've been a judge at the GGC before, many years ago, and am looking forward to seeing what's on show.
Before then, though, I'm looking even more forward to getting some sleep on the flight to Stockholm. Ever since we installed new curtains in the bedroom last weekend I've been wide awake at 4:30am and the resulting sleep deprivation is beginning to take its toll...
