I tried to drive to Shenfield to get in from there, but so did everyone else. The final three miles to the station took me 30 minutes and there was nowhere to park when I got there.

Anecdote
I was going to use this image to complain about what happens when you try to save electricity by switching off the projectors in some of the lecture theatres where I teach. However, it's actually turned into a comment about what happens when I'm supposed to be at a meeting in London but a faulty train brought down a few miles of power cables overnight.
