I wish that shower gels weren't sold on the basis of being some kind of mood-changing substance. I just want a shower gel, I don't want something to relax me, or invigorate me, or lull me to contentment in sensuous folds of soft silk. There are dozens of these aimed at women, but now they're aiming them at men, too.
The one I used this morning was bright yellow and promised I'd feel heroic. Yeah, right. It has lemon and tea tree oil in it: the only way that will make me heroic is if it attracts wasps.
Why can't I find a decent shower gel that just gets me clean, rather than attempting to mind-control me? It's just scented soap!
