Anecdote
The latest version of The Phone Book arrived yesterday. It used to be called The Telephone Directory, but nowadays it's The Phone Book.
I can tell that none of the marketing team that decided to rename it came from the north of England, because otherwise they would have spotted the alarming spoonerism you get from "Phone Book" if you have a northern accent.
