Anecdote
I'm marking the CE317 exam today, and have just finished doing question 1. This is a programming question about Lua. 1 in 6 students got a good mark on it; the remaining 5 in 6 got marks that would be bad if they were out of 10, except these are out of 20.
Note for the 27 students who have registered to take CE317 next year: if you can't program, there will be blood...
