Anecdote
Yesterday, I was driving my younger daughter into Colchester and we spotted a couple of student-age girls near the train station. Both were wearing wellies, presumably because they were heading for the V Festival in Chelmsford and reckoned they would be standing in a mudbath for most of the afternoon. Anyway, one of the girls had on a red mini-dress; in combination with the black boots, she looked like an extra from Star Trek.
I mentioned this to my daughter and she had no idea what I was talking about.
