Outburst
So, Carol Vorderman has been "forced out" of Countdown after she was told to take a 90% pay cut.
Hmm. On the one hand, a 90% pay cut does seem pretty steep. On the other, however, this is a 90% cut from around £900,000 a year. This means she would still be on £90,000 a year if she did take the pay cut — not exactly exploitation wages. Indeed, given the TV exposure she had from the show, it may even have been worth her while working for free to help with the name recognition she uses for some of her business ventures.
Sympathy: none.
