My elder daughter is learning to drive. She's being taught in the same kind of car that we have, so I thought I'd enquire to find out how much extra the insurance would cost if we added her as a driver for our car.
Hmm. Our insurance currently costs about £260 per year, with me and my wife as registered drivers. If we add Jenny, it'll be more like £1,300. In fact, the helpful lady on the phone suggested it might be cheaper if we just bought her an old banger and let her drive that.
I think maybe we'll wait until she's passed her test before letting her sit behind the wheel...
