Weird
My room is on the 8th floor of this hotel. Unusually for America, this is reflected in the room number, which starts with 8. Normally, the ground floor is numbered 1, the first floor is numbered 2, so the eighth floor would be numbered 9. The ground floor here is numbered L (for Lobby), and the remaining floors go up consecutively starting with 1.
Ah, the difference between ordinal and cardinal numbers...
It still has no floor 13, though.
