Revision

Comment

I checked the bookshelf in my office today to make sure I did indeed have all the books I thought I had when I wrote on the subject yesterday. It turns out that I don't have From Barbie to Mortal Kombat: Gender and Computer Games, edited by Justine Cassell and Henry Jenkins (I've just read papers from it and seen it at computer games conferences for years), but I do have Smartbomb: The Quest for Art, Entertainment, and Big Bucks in the Videogame Revolution by Heather Chaplin and Aaron Ruby. Shows how much of an impression that one made on me...

Oh, and as the list of 50 books includes a non-book, Star Trek, which I've seen a lot of (not that I found it all that inspiring), that puts me up to 26 — over the half-way mark.
