11:53am on Tuesday, 3rd January, 2006:
I was buying two bus passes today so my kids don't have to walk 6 miles to school (£110 for 3 months), and this elderly couple went up to the counter next to me.
"Can you tell me the time of the last bus from Gatwick to Colchester?" asked the man.
The sales person looked it up, and announced it was at 10 past 10.
The woman looked at the man and said, "That's too late for us."
"Thanks", said the man to the sales person. "Sorry for bothering you."
It's horrifying to realise that conversations like this are going on all over the country the whole time.
