The everyday blog of Richard Bartle.
12:15pm on Wednesday, 23rd February, 2005:
I had another rescheduled lecture today, EE214, from 9-11. There was snow on the ground, it was hard to get onto campus, it was at an ungodly hour: would the students come or would they stay in bed? It's the classic game theory "student's dilemma":
|Everyone else comes||Everyone else stays away|
|I come||We're all inconvenienced||I'll do better than everyone else in the exam|
|I stay away||Everyone else will do better than me in the exam||The exam will have to be made easier because we all missed the lecture|
