Reliability

Anecdote

I had a meeting with a student scheduled for noon today. I had no other reason for going onto campus except for that meeting, which is doubtless why the fire alarms decided to go off at 11:55. I was forced to leave my office because of the din.

What the fire alarms didn't realise, however, was that this student (in common with most students) is always late. I was back in my office 15 minutes later when he finally showed up, unaware that the building had even been evacuated.

Ha! Think again, fire alarms!
