Political Influence

Weird

Two days ago, The Independent published a letter from me which read, in full:

Sir: I hope someone is keeping a list of all these inflammatory pieces of legislation that we're seeing from New Labour so that they can be repealed when some other party finally wins a general election.

Yesterday, the Conservatives announced that they would repeal any ID cards law that Labour put in place.

Does this mean that my letter had some genuine political influence?

Sadly, no, it doesn't: The Independent has no Conservative readers...
