Late Arrivals

Anecdote

Today, I decided I'd make a note of how many minutes late my students showed up for their lecture. I have two lectures on Monday, both an hour long (well, 50 minutes as I'm supposed to finish 10 minutes before the hour to facilitate change-overs). I wrote the times of the late-comers on the board, so people who had arrived earlier could be impressed. Here are the results:

9 students didn't show up at all.

18 students didn't show up at all.

It'll be interesting to see what happens netx year, when I start teaching students who are spending £9,000 a year to come to my lectures, given that each lecture will have cost them £9000/20/8=£56.25 .
