Winter Travel

Outburst

My 1-hour train journey to London today took 90 minutes because of the snow.

Surely it should have taken less time? Railway lines are made of metal and metal shrinks in the cold. If the lines are shorter, the journeytime should be shorter.

Winter days are shorter than summer days for the same reason.
