Seconds Out

Comment

I reset my watch today, because it had got all messed up from changing time zones when I went to the USA.

This watch loses 1 second every 3 or 4 weeks. I can't tell you how annoying this is.

My previous watch gained 1 second every 3 or 4 weeks. This was fine — I don't mind my watch being ahead, because it means I'm never late. However, now I can be late, even though in practical terms there's pretty much no difference between either watch and the actual time as transmitted by BBC radio with its hourly pips.

I don't know why it is that losing a mere second every 3 or 4 weeks is so annoying, but it is. Augh!
