Overheard in my mother-in-law 's nursing home:
Him: Have they fixed your hearing aid yet?
Her: (silence)
Him: Have they fixed your hearing aid yet?
Her: (silence)
Him: HAVE THEY FIXED YOUR HEARING AID YET?
Her: What?
Him: HAVE. THEY. FIXED. YOUR. HEARING. AID. YET?
Her: What?
Him: I guess not...
